20-mile training run tomorrow!

We hope everyone is excited for the 20-mile training run tomorrow! If you have any questions or concerns make sure to contact team coach John Furey, email marathonteam@bwh.harvard.edu or call/text Ali Luthman at 774-262-0314, Alexa Ramer at 954-802-3777 or Caroline Duncan Rees at 617-763-4657.

As a member of the Stepping Strong Marathon Team you represent not only the Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation but also Brigham and Women’s Hospital. As an ambassador and charity runner, we ask that you abide by what the B.A.A. has asked us to do and NOT take any bus that may still be offered through other means, to a point on the course. We also ask that you refrain from wearing Stepping Strong gear during the final few Saturday runs.

The Brigham Stepping Strong Team will still have a cheering / water stop at the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Chesterfield Road (100 yards up the road from the Newton Fire Department, 1750 Commonwealth Avenue) so we can support you every step of the way back to Boston! Our team will be there to capture you running, so be sure to smile for the camera!

Did You Know?

Did you know that over $671 billion was spent on decreased productivity, work loss, and medical costs due to traumatic injury in 2015? We encourage you to share this fact with your network, maybe after you complete your long run to inspire them and show WHY funding for trauma research and care is needed and so important.

Only three more weeks until race day!!

From start to finish,

Ali and Alexa
