A message from the Reny Family

Stepping Strong Teammates,

It has been such an incredible journey getting to the starting line of the 128th Boston Marathon and we are so proud of you. You have worked tirelessly and pounded the pavement to complete 17 long runs and 12 hill runs on John Furey’s training schedule and now the big day is almost here! On one hand it feels like it has taken a long time to get to this moment, and on the other hand, it feels like how it could be here already? We are truly in awe of the dedication that each of you has shown to training and fundraising for a cause that means so much to us personally and is so relevant in today’s tumultuous world.

This week leading up the marathon is always very reflective for our family, but knowing we get to cheer you on as you run the course together with a unified purpose to transform trauma care for others, and to prove that good things can happen when people come together, bolsters and inspires us. Remembering that together we are turning a tragedy into hope will be a great motivation as you hit the hills of Newton on Monday.

Over marathon weekend, we are looking forward to getting together with locals, meeting out-of-towners, and giving some long-awaited hugs and high-fives. Gillian is especially excited to share her gratitude with each of you at the Pep Rally and cheering tent in Newton where we will all be gathered. Thank you again for being a part of our Stepping Strong family.

With admiration and appreciation,

Audrey, Steven, Danielle, Kyle, Gillian, and Matt

P.S. – Make sure to tell your family and friends about the Stepping Strong fundraising taking place on Marathon Monday at The Beehive and Cosmina restaurants! Both are convenient, great spots for your post marathon meal! Go to www.beehiveboston.com or www.cosmicaboston.com to make a reservation.
