Long Run Update

20-Mile Training Run

We hope everyone is excited for the big training run next Saturday, 9/18! If you have any questions or concerns leading up to the training run, make sure to contact team coach John Furey.

As a member of the Stepping Strong Marathon Team you represent not only the Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation but also Brigham and Women’s Hospital. As an ambassador and charity runner with us, we ask that you abide by what the B.A.A. has asked us to do and NOT take any bus that may still be offered through other means, to a point on the course. We also ask that you refrain from wearing Stepping Strong gear during the final few Saturday runs.

As a reminder there are two options for teammates to participate in this training run.

  1. Secure your own transportation to 354 Waverly Street, Framingham (CVS parking lot) and begin the 20-mile run back to Boston Common between 7:45am and 8:15am
  2. Do an out and back from the Boston Common between 7:45am and 8:15am

Please click here to let us know your plans for 9/18 so we can plan accordingly.

The Brigham Stepping Strong Team will still have a cheering / water stop at the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Chesterfield Road (100 yards up the road from the Newton Fire Department, 1750 Commonwealth Avenue) so we can support you every step of the way back to Boston. Our team photographer will also be there to capture you running, so be sure to smile for the camera!

If you have any questions, please contact us at marathonteam@bwh.harvard.edu.

From start to finish,
